Behind the Scenes of the Mission43 Leaders Fellowship
Two years ago, Justin Haynes joined the Mission43 Podcast at the start of his transition out of the military. Today, we sit down for a powerful check-in. In this episode, Justin shares what the transition from military to civilian life actually looks like including the identity shift, the uncertainty, and the work required to build purpose and community in Idaho after the military. At one point, he says: “I feel better just being Justin now.” That statement captures something many veterans and military spouses understand. Service becomes part of your identity. Learning how to carry it forward, without being defined by it, takes intention.
Justin credits the Mission43 Leaders Fellowship as a turning point in his transition. Through the Fellowship, he found:
• A powerful network across Idaho
• Mentors who challenged and supported him
• Space to think, analyze, and set priorities
• A community that made Idaho feel like home
The Leaders Fellowship is a selective, year-long leadership development program for veterans, military spouses, and currently serving service members who are committed to continued their leadership growth. It’s not about reliving your military leadership, but instead, redefining how you lead as a civilian in your career, your family, and your community. If you are a veteran, military spouse, or currently serving service member preparing to separate from the military, this episode is for you.
