The Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse is a world-class, 7-acre multipurpose campus located in Boise, Idaho. It features a gym, pool, climbing walls, living quarters, hyperbaric treatment center, and much more. Keeping the campus running so it can serve the members of Mission43 and the Challenged Athletes Foundation of Idaho is a big job! Enter Travis Rolstad, a Mission43 member and 20-year veteran of the US Air Force Civil Engineering squadron. Travis has a vast knowledge of maintaining some of our nation’s most important infrastructure assets and his role as the Campus and Facilities Manager will be vital to ensuring the mission of the Fieldhouse never stops. Listen in as Travis talks about connecting with Mission43 prior to retirement, and how that led to a smooth transition back to civilian life and into his current role at the Fieldhouse.

Dan welcomes Brad Blair, Director of Operation Resilient Path (ORP), back to the studio to discuss overcoming substance abuse. Both Dan and Brad discuss their own personal experiences and how the program at Warrior’s Heart (a partner of Mission43) has been instrumental in getting them on a path to recovery. Addiction comes in many different forms and can have physical and psychological effects. Their lasting message is one of encouragement…don’t be afraid to take the first step towards recovery and reach out for help.
In episode #049, we sit down with Davin Strang and Dr. Steve Wyman who help lead Summit Hyperbarics and Wellness. This state-of-the-art hyperbarics (HBOT) clinic will be located on the campus of the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse and will serve Mission43 members, athletes with physical disabilities, and first responders. In this episode of the Mission43 podcast, we sit down with Idaho’s newest power couple, Chris and Joanne Collins. Chris is an Army brat and West Point graduate who recently retired after completing his career as an Army ORSA (Operations Research Systems Analyst). Joanne is no slouch herself, having been raised in a military family and spending many years as a Human Resources director, she recently discovered a passion for education and became a school teacher. Their journey to Idaho started during an Army recruiting assignment to the Treasure Valley. Chris and Joanne recall discovering a deep connection to our beautiful state and the people. As Chris’s retirement approached, they made a deliberate effort to make Idaho their home after the military. Listen in as they share stories about their life on active duty, and how early planning led to a smooth transition from active-duty service back to civilian life.
Anna Woodring discovered Idaho after the military when she set her sights on becoming the Strength and Conditioning Coach at the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse. She’s a Marine Corps officer from Northern Georgia and has the accent to prove it! Her desire to serve in the military started at a young age, as did her passion for exercise science. A workout guru at heart, Anna set the female pull-up record in OCS. After leaving active duty, she spent time training the National Champion Georgia Bulldogs football team while she continued developing physical training programs for the Marines. All of that experience will come in handy as she takes over the Fieldhouse training programs. Listen in as Anna gives some great advice on maintaining your physical fitness after leaving the military.
In Podcast #046 we welcome Carson Spear to the studio. Carson is a US Army veteran who served multiple combat tours in Iraq. He’s also a husband, a father, holds an MBA, a JD, was a senior leader at a Fortune 100 company, is a Mission43 Leaders Fellow, and most recently became the Executive Director of the Warhawk Air Museum.
