Writing For Reflection & Growth
Military spouses experience frequent transitions, identity shifts, and emotional labor that often go unprocessed. This writing workshop was initiated to create a low-barrier, supportive space for spouses to reflect on their lived experiences, make meaning of their stories, and reconnect with their sense of self beyond roles and responsibilities. Writing is used as an accessible, non-clinical tool for self-discovery, reflection, and connection.
Writing doesn’t have to be academic, and journaling doesn’t have to feel performative. Through generation, collaboration, and introspection, you will learn how to use writing as an effective form of self-discovery. In this writing workshop, we will use multi-genre writing tools to examine the experiences that have shaped us into who we are now and who we hope to be.
What you can look forward to:
Writing as a practical tool for self-discovery and stress processing
A welcoming, non-academic, non-performative approach to journaling
A chance to reflect, connect, and share in community with other military spouses
Skills you can continue using independently after the event
No prior writing experience required
