Women's Health for Military Spouses
Military spouses often carry the invisible load of caring for their families, sometimes at the expense of their own health. Preventive screenings, like mammograms, are one of the most effective tools for early detection and long-term wellness. Yet many women put off making their health a priority.
This event is here to change that. Together, we’ll focus on women’s health and breast health through an expert-led presentation designed to give you clarity, confidence, and practical tools you can use right away. You’ll learn what a mammogram is, why it matters, and how to take charge of your health with less stress and uncertainty.
In this session, you’ll explore:
- The purpose of mammograms and their role in early detection
- A simple overview of how the process works
- The different types of mammograms (screening vs. diagnostic)
- When to get one, including an interactive risk assessment test
- What it feels like, with honest answers to reduce fear or anxiety
- How results are communicated and what they mean
- Limitations, including what mammograms can and cannot tell you
